Background
This is an exciting venture between
Berkshire East PCT and the Centre for Primary Care &
Public Health at the University of Reading. The course provides
an excellent opportunity for professional and academic development
for Health & Social Welfare related Staffs on an open
learning basis.
This open learning course was initially
established in the early 1990s and validated by the Health
Education Authority until 1997 when the HEA ceased to exist.
The course was then further developed and validation transferred
to the University of Portsmouth. It has had a long and successful
track record that has enable it to evolve to its current format
and be relevant for those engaged in delivering the public
health agenda.
The work conducted on this course has
been recognised at numerous regional and national conferences
and symposia. The most notable of these was 'The Second World
Conference - The Promotion of Mental Health and Prevention
of Mental and Behavioural Disorders' - September 2002. |
