We have produced a short film called "Getting Up from a Fall - and Planning Ahead" which is aimed at people who are vulnerable from having a fall, giving them real practical advice.

It demonstrates and explains a simple method for getting up, but also explains other related aspects.  It goes on to give advice on planning ahead to be better prepared if you do have a fall, e.g. placing items around your rooms that could be useful if you were to fall, and having a procedure for calling for help.

It gives advice both for whether you can move and get up, or if that is not possible.

It is available on both DVD and VHS cassette, to staff, public and carers within the East Berkshire PCT area.

Prices are £12.50 for health professionals and £7.50 for an individual at risk of falls.  This includes postage and packing.
